About
Keyboop is a free, MIT-licensed macOS utility for people switching between Russian and English. It corrects text typed in the wrong layout using a dictionary and context, or lets you fix recent text with a configurable hotkey. Corrections are typed directly rather than replacing clipboard contents.
It also expands text snippets and offers on-device dictation with Whisper or Parakeet. Download a speech model before using offline recognition. Selected text in an editable field can be translated between Russian and English with Apple Translation on macOS 15 or later.
Apple silicon Macs require macOS 14 or later; Intel Macs require macOS 13 or later. Parakeet needs Apple silicon; Intel uses Whisper on the CPU and may be slower. Allow the keyboard access requested during setup. The publisher says typing and voice stay on the Mac; models and updates require network access.
