About

SnapDock is a menu bar utility for keyboard-driven app switching on Apple Silicon Macs. Published in the Mike-Acb/snapdock GitHub repository, it maps shortcuts to pinned Dock apps and lets you add your own app shortcuts. It suits people who keep a familiar Dock order and want direct access without cycling through every open app.

  • Assigns Option+1 through Option+0 to the first ten pinned Dock apps, following their order and skipping Finder, folders, and recent apps. Modifier keys can be changed.
  • Supports custom app shortcuts, which take priority over conflicting automatic shortcuts, and per-app switches that preserve disabled shortcuts.
  • Launches an app or brings it forward; pressing its shortcut again hides the frontmost app when the default hide option is enabled.
  • Imports shortcuts from Snap or Apptivate with a preview. Apptivate key sequences retain only their first combination; files and scripts are not supported.

Requires an Apple Silicon Mac running macOS 13 or later; Intel support is not offered in the documented build. The app interface supports English and Simplified Chinese. Download the DMG from the official GitHub Releases page and drag SnapDock to Applications. The app is ad-hoc signed and not notarized, so macOS may block first launch. Review the source and only approve it in Privacy & Security if you trust it.

The project uses the MIT license, but the reviewed official README and release do not explicitly state a product price or free offering; pricing is unconfirmed. This entry is based on official documentation, not an installation or hands-on test.
