About

Migu 1M is a Japanese monospaced font intended, among other uses, for text-editor display. Its design combines M+ and IPA Gothic and adjusts some glyphs to make characters easier to distinguish.

  • Monospaced Latin characters have consistent spacing.
  • The design distinguishes several easily confused characters, including 0 and O, and 1, I and l.
  • It uses JIS2004 kanji forms and supports substitution to JIS90 forms through the jp90 tag.
  • This Homebrew cask installs two font files: migu-1m-regular.ttf and migu-1m-bold.ttf.

Install with brew install --cask font-migu-1m. After installation, select the installed Migu 1M font in a compatible application, such as a text editor, to use it; this installs a font, not an application. The included files establish regular and bold styles, but do not imply complete Unicode coverage or ligature support.
