NVIDIA GeForce NOW streams supported PC games from remote NVIDIA servers to a Mac. It suits players who want access to compatible purchased games without running their graphics workload locally. It is a cloud gaming client, not a general remote Windows desktop, and only games/services available in its catalog and region can be used.

Installation and network requirements

Mount the official GeForceNOW-release.dmg and install the app, or use brew install --cask nvidia-geforce-now. The current unversioned DMG is 363,702,801 bytes; that URL is mutable rather than a version-pinned 2.0.89.141 artifact. NVIDIA's Mac requirements list macOS 10.15 or later and Mac systems introduced in 2009 or later. No separate universal RAM minimum is stated in that Mac section. Higher stream resolutions, HDR and high refresh rates need a supported display/client and membership, not just the base requirement.

Streaming needs a reliable internet connection: the checked Mac section specifies 15 Mbps for 720p 60, 25 Mbps for 1080p 60, 35 Mbps for QHD/ultrawide 120 and 45 Mbps for 4K120. NVIDIA requires less than 80 ms latency to a data center and recommends Ethernet or 5 GHz Wi-Fi. Availability and performance depend on region, routing and congestion; a fast download speed alone does not guarantee low-latency play.

Accounts, games and costs

Sign in to a GeForce NOW/NVIDIA account and link the relevant supported game-store account when required. You normally need the game's license or eligible subscription separately; membership does not include every game. Free and paid tiers have different queue, session and streaming limits, and regional alliance providers can have different terms. Review current plans before purchasing hardware or a membership. This client cannot provide offline cloud gaming when the connection is unavailable.

Permissions and privacy

Grant microphone or capture-related permissions only for the voice/recording features you choose. Game account linking, cloud saves, online play and feedback send data to their respective services. Protect store credentials and check that progress is synchronized before ending a session. Input delay, disconnections, session queues and unsupported anti-cheat/store configurations can affect a game even when the local app launches successfully.

Release and media scope

Official notes are published for the 2.0.89, 2.0.88 and 2.0.87 families, not the catalog's full patch suffixes. The notes retain platform distinctions: the 2.0.88 Firefox feature is Windows browser support, not a Mac-client feature. The screenshot is an official cropped streaming-statistics interface from an older release; the icon is NVIDIA's published GeForce NOW service icon from its official Google Play listing, not a claim about a particular Mac binary.
