Présentation

Hack is a monospaced font family designed for source code by the Source Foundry authors. It builds on the Bitstream Vera and DejaVu projects, with a large x-height, wide apertures, and low contrast intended to improve screen legibility at common coding sizes.

The family includes regular, bold, italic, and bold italic faces. It supports ASCII, Latin-1, Latin Extended A, Greek, and Cyrillic characters, and includes Powerline glyphs without requiring a separate patched font.

Install on macOS with brew install --cask font-hack. This cask installs the four TrueType font files in the user font library; it is a font package, not a standalone application. Select Hack in the font preferences of your editor or terminal after installation. The upstream project also provides separate web-font builds and documentation for embedding them in websites.

Hack contributions are licensed under the MIT License, with upstream Bitstream Vera components under the Bitstream Vera License. The upstream documentation permits unlimited print, desktop, web, and software embedding use in commercial and non-commercial applications.

Comment installer Hack sur Mac

  1. Dans « Terminal », exécutez : brew install --cask font-hack
  2. Homebrew installe la police dans ~/Library/Fonts, où Livre des polices peut l’utiliser.

Installer sans Homebrew

Téléchargez le même fichier que Homebrew : github.com/source-foundry/Hack/releases/download/v3.003/Hack-v3.003-ttf.zip

Le SHA-256 vérifie seulement que le téléchargement est complet ; ce n’est pas une certification de sécurité. Voir le SHA-256 et l’adresse de téléchargement

Désinstaller Hack et nettoyer éventuellement ses données

Commande de désinstallation
brew uninstall --cask font-hack

Une désinstallation standard supprime l’app mais conserve ses réglages et ses caches.
