Beschreibung

Microsoft Teams combines chat, meetings, calling and collaboration for individuals and organizations. It is useful for remote teams, schools and people who need conversations, shared work and online meetings in one application. Available features depend on account type, subscription and organizational policy.

Installation and setup

Install the Mac package with brew install --cask microsoft-teams, or download Microsoft's official Mac PKG and follow its installer. Open Microsoft Teams and sign in with the appropriate Microsoft personal or work/school account. Grant microphone and camera permissions for calls, and the relevant macOS screen-sharing authorization when sharing the screen. Organization-managed devices can impose additional installation, sign-in or update policies.

Requirements, dependencies and platform support

The current cask requires macOS 14 or later, lists Intel and Apple Silicon support, and explicitly conflicts with microsoft-office-businesspro. It declares no separate formula dependency. Microsoft's support policy covers the three most recent macOS major releases; confirm the policy for your system rather than assuming that a minimum version means indefinite support.

Microsoft's Mac requirements list a dual-core processor, 4 GB RAM, 1.5 GB available storage and a display of at least 1200 by 800. Meeting audio/video needs compatible devices. Download size is separate from this storage requirement: the current 26261.303.5165.1465 Mac PKG reports 348,409,843 bytes through the official CDN.

Windows has a separate desktop client. Linux users are directed to the web client or PWA. Supported desktop browser families include Edge, Chrome, Firefox and Safari on their applicable operating systems. Mobile apps are available for Android and iOS under Microsoft's rolling OS support policies. The web client is not supported on mobile browsers or in VDI according to the cited requirements; VDI has separate client guidance.

The official App Store image demonstrates the iPhone chat interface in a promotional composition. It does not represent the Mac client or this Mac build. The catalog icon comes from Microsoft's App Store listing.

Accounts, fees and licensing

Teams is proprietary Microsoft software governed by Microsoft's terms. Personal and organizational offerings differ: free options exist, while business, advanced meeting, telephony and some integration features can require paid plans or additional licensing. Downloading the client does not grant every service entitlement. Work/school availability is controlled by the organization's license and administrator. No official full application source repository was established.
