Azul Zulu JDK 11
Azul Systems · Azul’s OpenJDK 11 distribution for running and developing Java applications, with native macOS packages for Apple silicon and Intel.
Azul Zulu JDK 11 is Languages & Runtimes software for Mac.
About
Azul Zulu JDK 11 is Azul’s Java Development Kit distribution based on OpenJDK 11. This exact Homebrew cask installs the Java 11 line; it is not the separate Zulu 25 package or a graphical development environment.
Distribution and package scope
Azul distinguishes free Community Availability (CA) builds from commercially supported Subscriber Availability (SA) distributions. The recorded macOS installer is a CA JDK. Support offerings and SA-only configurations should not be assumed to be included in this free package.
Installation on macOS
The official installation guide documents opening the DMG and following the installer wizard. JDK installations use /Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/<zulu_folder>/Contents/Home; verify the selected Java runtime with java -version. Azul separately documents archive installations, checksum verification and managing multiple Java versions.
Architecture and recorded versions
Homebrew records an Apple-silicon DMG with an aarch64 filename and a separate x64 artifact for Intel. Version 11.0.32.1,11.90.205 combines the Java and Azul distribution versions and is not an additional upstream release beyond its canonical Java version. The August 2026 official release table maps CA build 11.90.205 to JDK 11.0.32.1+1; July’s table maps CA 11.90.19 to JDK 11.0.32+9.
Updates and limitations
Azul publishes release tables and version-specific fixes for its quarterly and monthly updates. Changes listed for another Java major version, OpenJFX variant or CRaC build do not automatically apply to this JDK. This runtime/development-kit installer has no standalone application GUI; documentation command examples are not application screenshots.
