VectorCraft is ArtCraft’s independently implemented, open-source vector illustration application written in Rust. Native desktop versions and a browser build are offered upstream; this listing installs the macOS desktop application. It is not Adobe Illustrator.
Drawing and appearance
The official project documents pen and direct-selection tools, snapping guides, shape booleans and an appearance panel. Live editable features include blends, envelope distortions, gradient meshes, repeats, glows and shadows. Image tracing converts raster imagery into paths with preset configurations.
Documents and export
Native documents use JSON. The official site lists SVG and PDF import/export and PNG, JPEG and WebP output, including multi-size export for screens. Interchange fidelity and fonts depend on the file and release; test imported artwork rather than assuming complete compatibility with another editor.
Installation and version scope
The project is in active development. Homebrew currently records 0.7.0 and the older 0.4.0 for this listing. The official website’s download panel still displays 0.6.0, so this listing’s version evidence comes from the exact Homebrew record and GitHub release, not that panel. The cask installs VectorCraft.app from the official universal 0.7.0 DMG for Apple silicon and Intel Macs.
