Blender LTS
Blender Foundation · The long-term-support edition of Blender, a free and open-source suite for 3D modeling, animation, rendering, compositing, motion tracking and video editing.
About
Blender LTS is the long-term-support distribution of Blender, the free and open-source 3D creation suite coordinated by the Blender Foundation. This exact listing is Homebrew's blender@lts package, not the separately maintained blender cask.
Creative workflow
Blender supports the complete 3D pipeline: modeling, rigging, animation, simulation, rendering, compositing, motion tracking and video editing. Its desktop workspace combines specialized editors with configurable keyboard shortcuts, themes and accessibility settings. Blender is licensed under GNU GPL version 3 and can be used for commercial work and education.
Long-term support
The recorded branch is Blender 5.2 LTS, initially released on July 14, 2026 and supported until July 2028. Its official release overview highlights node-powered physics and online asset libraries. LTS maintenance releases provide documented corrections within this branch rather than automatically switching the package to each new feature release.
macOS package
Homebrew records version 5.2.2 and installs Blender.app from the Apple-silicon DMG. The cask also provides a blender command wrapper and conflicts with the separate Blender cask. Consult official requirements before installation. The attached manual image, if available, is a genuine cross-platform Blender workspace illustration, not a claimed macOS-specific capture.
