About

UDEV Gothic is a programming font that combines Japanese characters from BIZ UD Gothic with Latin characters from JetBrains Mono. It aims to pair readable Japanese text with coordinated, legible Latin characters. This Homebrew cask installs a specific set of font files, rather than an application.

The installed files include regular, bold, italic, and bold italic styles across the available width and Japanese-document variants. The family offers two width ratios: standard files use a half-width-to-full-width ratio of 1:2, while names containing 35 use 3:5. Files containing JPDOC use full-width forms for selected symbols common in Japanese documents. IVS support and visualization of full-width spaces are also described by the project. This cask’s installed files do not include every variant described by the project, including the LG ligature and NF Nerd Fonts variants.

Install with brew install --cask font-udev-gothic. After installation, select the installed UDEV Gothic font and desired style in a compatible application’s font settings; for coding, choose it in an editor or terminal. The font itself does not install an application.
