About
TeX Gyre Heros is a sans-serif font family available here as OpenType font files. The family is based on URW Nimbus Sans L, and its designers describe it as usable as a replacement for Helvetica.
The Homebrew cask installs eight specific files:
- Regular, italic, bold, and bold italic styles.
- Condensed regular, italic, bold, and bold italic styles, identified by
cnin their filenames.
The official project page describes the broader family as including PostScript Type 1 and OpenType formats, but this cask installs only the eight OpenType files listed above. It does not install a TeX application. After installation, select the installed TeX Gyre Heros style you want in a compatible application’s font settings.
Install with brew install --cask font-tex-gyre-heros. The files are placed in ~/.
