IBM Plex Sans
IBM · The sans-serif member of IBM’s open-source Plex typeface family, with Roman and true italic styles for interface design and general typography.
About
IBM Plex Sans is the sans-serif member of IBM’s corporate Plex typeface family. The official project makes font binaries and source files available under the Open Font License for use in interfaces and other typographic settings. This Homebrew package installs fonts, not a standalone graphical application.
Styles and installation
The recorded Homebrew 1.1.0 cask downloads the official ibm-plex-sans.zip release and installs complete OpenType font files into the user’s Library/Fonts directory. Its listed styles include Thin, ExtraLight, Light, Regular, Medium, SemiBold and Bold, together with italic counterparts. Installed fonts can be selected in applications that support system fonts.
Package scope
IBM’s wider Plex family includes Sans, Serif, Mono and Sans Condensed. The repository also publishes separate language-specific Sans packages and a Math family; this cask should not be assumed to install every related family or language package. The README describes Roman and true italics and provides source files and multiple formats for different typographic uses.
Licensing and sources
The official repository identifies IBM as the project owner and distributes Plex under the Open Font License. Consult the repository’s license before redistributing or modifying the typeface.
