Geist Mono
Vercel, Basement Studio and Andrés Briganti · An open-source monospaced typeface from Vercel for code editors, terminals, diagrams and other text-based interfaces.
About
Geist Mono is the monospaced member of Vercel's Geist type family, created by Vercel in collaboration with Basement Studio and Andrés Briganti. It is designed for code editors, diagrams, terminals and other interfaces in which code is represented, and complements the proportional Geist Sans family.
What this package installs
This Homebrew cask installs font files, not a standalone macOS application. The recorded 1.7.2 archive supplies Geist Mono OpenType weights and italic styles, plus variable TrueType fonts, into the user's Library/Fonts directory. The archive also contains other Geist family files, but this exact cask installs the Mono files specified by its Homebrew artifacts. Font downloads are architecture-independent.
Use and licensing
After installation, select Geist Mono in the font settings of an editor, terminal or design tool that supports custom system fonts. The official repository also documents an npm distribution for web projects; that is a separate installation path from this macOS font cask. The font software is licensed under the SIL Open Font License 1.1.
Version evidence and visuals
The backend's latest three recorded rows are 1.7.2, 1.8.0 and 1.7.0, in its recorded order; this does not imply a semantic-version chronology. The official 1.7.2 release documents CI fixes and attachment of the font ZIP. Official unprefixed tags establish the 1.8.0 and 1.7.0 notes: 1.8.0 adds a dittomark glyph to the roman font, while 1.7.0 redesigns Cyrillic and makes coding ligatures optional through Stylistic Set 11. This font package has no standalone application icon or GUI screenshot. Official family specimens should not be represented as an application interface.
