Actual ODBC Driver Pack
Actual Technologies · A macOS installer for Actual Technologies ODBC drivers that connect desktop applications such as Excel and FileMaker Pro to supported databases.
About
Actual ODBC Driver Pack is a macOS installer for Actual Technologies database drivers. The drivers are intended to let desktop applications such as Microsoft Excel and FileMaker Pro connect to enterprise databases. The pack includes driver offerings for SQL Server and Sybase, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQLite, and Microsoft Access.
- The SQL Server and Sybase driver supports SQL Server native and trusted domain authentication; the vendor says it installs on the Mac rather than on the database server.
- The Oracle driver is described as including what is needed to connect, without downloading additional Oracle client software.
- The open-source database driver provides a setup assistant with connection diagnostics and online help for MySQL, PostgreSQL, and SQLite.
- The Access driver reads from the database file and can import data into Excel or FileMaker Pro. The vendor describes support for Access 97 and later.
- Actual's website describes a separate ESS Adapter for using PostgreSQL and DB2 with FileMaker 17 External SQL Sources; on macOS, it works with the Actual Open Source Databases driver.
Install with brew install --cask actual-odbc-pack. The cask installs the Actual ODBC Pack.pkg package and conflicts with the separate odbc-manager cask. After installation, use the relevant driver's setup assistant or connection instructions to configure a database connection. The vendor's site notes that unregistered driver downloads return only three rows per query until registered; registration enables unlimited rows. See Actual Technologies product information and the Homebrew cask definition.
