Retcon is a graphical macOS app for rewriting Git history. It lets you rearrange and edit commits through a drag-and-drop interface, with changes applied for immediate preview. The official site describes it as a way to make and inspect history edits without requiring conflict resolution at every step.

Notable capabilities include:

  • Move, reword, delete, fix up, or edit commits, and split a commit in two.
  • Preview rebases and review a change recap before applying an edit.
  • Inspect detailed conflict diffs and surrounding commit context; conflicts do not prevent further history edits.
  • Undo individual operations and use a built-in test sandbox that resets automatically.
  • Work with branches, stage specific lines, and pull or push branches; the app also supports SSH/HTTPS remote authentication and OpenSSH configuration.

Install with brew install --cask retcon, then open Retcon from Applications. The cask installs Retcon.app. Retcon requires macOS 14 or later according to the cask; the official website specifies macOS 14.3 or later.

Retcon 安全嗎？

Retcon 收錄在 Homebrew 官方軟體庫中，沒有被停用。自 2026 年 9 月起，Homebrew 會停用沒有通過 macOS Gatekeeper 檢查的應用。安裝時，Homebrew 會用 SHA-256 校驗值核對來自 downloads.lemon.garden 的安裝檔。
