Grok Bot

Grok Bot is the official x.ai desktop client for cloud-based AI teammates, published under the current SpaceXAI branding. It integrates with Cursor's account and download infrastructure. It is intended for people delegating research, communication, coding coordination and recurring work across connected applications.

Tasks and connected tools

Message a Bot, define its job, connect supported services and set routines or event triggers. Bots can use a persistent cloud desktop with a browser, terminal, files and signed-in applications. Multiple Bots can coordinate on a task. The desktop client provides the conversation and controls; the cloud computer can continue working after the laptop is closed.

Bots for one user share a cloud computer, files and browser sessions. Signing into a website can therefore make that session available to the other Bots on that computer. Connections such as Gmail, calendar, Slack or source hosting require the corresponding account and authorization. A connector's permissions determine which resources can be read or changed.

Permissions and data

The official guide describes action review and allow/block rules. These controls use a model to assess instructions; they are not a guarantee that every proposed action is safe or correctly interpreted. Review permissions and keep approval requirements for consequential changes, communications and purchases. You may need to complete CAPTCHA or two-factor authentication yourself. A Bot does not bypass a website's authentication or grant privileges your account lacks.

Prompts, files and connected-service information can be processed in the cloud. Review the applicable account privacy settings, training opt-out and organizational policies before connecting confidential material. The provider describes encryption in transit and at rest, but this is not a local-only or fully offline product. AI output and actions can be wrong; check important results and maintain backups for files that automation can modify.

Mac installation

The current0.68.1 Apple Silicon DMG is145,937,657 bytes before installed storage. The catalog requires macOS12 Monterey or later and provides separate ARM64 and Intel x64 downloads. Use the package matching your Mac, copy Grok Bot.app to Applications and sign in. The cask declares no additional package dependency or conflict and marks the app as self-updating.

Local-computer actions require the app's execution permission setting. Choose Ask every time, Always allow or Never allow according to your needs rather than assuming unrestricted access. Dictation requires microphone access when enabled. Grant additional system or service permissions only for the selected workflow; cloud operation does not imply permission to control every local application.

Accounts, usage and license

Grok Bot is proprietary software governed by service terms. Downloading the client does not grant unlimited free agent usage. Access is included with eligible SuperGrok, Cursor Pro and Cursor Teams plans; the official expansion announcement lists SuperGrok, Plus and Heavy, Cursor Pro, Pro+ and Ultra, and Teams Standard and Premium. Enterprise access and administration have separate arrangements.

The current product page advertises entry plans atUS$20 per month for Cursor Pro,US$30 per month for SuperGrok andUS$40 per seat per month for Cursor Teams Standard, billed monthly. Check regional prices and current eligibility before purchasing. Bot usage is separate from the existing Grok and Cursor usage allowance; plans include weekly Bot usage, with additional usage billed by token cost.
