Devin Desktop
Cognition · A coding IDE and agent command center for reviewing changes, organizing coding sessions and using supported local or cloud agents.
紹介
Devin Desktop combines a coding editor with a command center for agent sessions. It suits developers who want to organize parallel coding work, inspect changes and keep projects and agent sessions together. The desktop product is distinct from relying exclusively on the hosted Devin service.
Editor and agent workflow
Use the editor, code completion, debugging and project context alongside session lists and boards. Spaces and Git worktrees help separate concurrent work. Review agent diffs before accepting changes. Supported agent integrations include ACP and MCP connections; each integration has its own capabilities and configuration. A model or third-party agent subscription is not automatically included simply because the desktop shell is installed.
Installation and requirements
Download the official DMG, copy Devin.app into Applications, or use brew install --cask devin. The checked 3.10.48 Apple silicon DMG is 353,160,198 bytes. Read-only inspection verifies version 3.10.48, macOS 12.0 minimum and an arm64 executable. This download is the Apple silicon artifact; its architecture should not be described as Universal. Obtain the appropriate publisher distribution for other hardware.
The cask includes the desktop application and its command-line launcher and declares no additional formula dependency. Project-specific runtimes, compilers, Git credentials and external tools remain separate requirements. Installing an editor does not install every language SDK. Agent features and model downloads or requests may require network access, account sign-in and credentials for the selected provider.
Permissions and execution
An agent can read or modify project files and run commands within the access and settings you grant. Review tool approvals, terminal commands, external MCP servers, repository credentials and proposed diffs. Files outside a chosen workspace, protected macOS folders or integrations with other applications can require additional permissions; there is no reason to grant every macOS privacy permission by default. Cloud agents and SSH workflows also depend on their remote environment and authentication.
Keep backups or version control before allowing large edits. A generated command can delete files, expose secrets or change infrastructure. Restricted Mode is especially relevant when opening unfamiliar repositories, and version 3.10.31 fixes a restricted-workspace settings bypass. Diagnostic memory and CPU profiles can contain sensitive application context; review archives before sharing them.
Accounts, pricing and data
The publisher offers a free tier with limited usage and paid Pro, Max, team and enterprise options. At the checked pricing page, Pro is $20/month and Max is $200/month; quotas, eligible models and cloud usage charges vary by plan. Temporary model promotions are not permanent unlimited entitlements. This is a proprietary commercial desktop product; open protocols or third-party integrations do not establish an open-source license for the application itself.
Sign-in, AI requests, hosted sessions and synchronization can send prompts, code or metadata to the selected service. Local editing and a local agent are different from cloud execution; check the provider's data and retention terms rather than assuming all code stays on the Mac. Do not place production secrets in prompts or logs. A ChatGPT sign-in option in 3.10.48 uses eligible plan allowances for supported GPT requests and does not imply that every plan, model or separate API bill is covered.
