Présentation

Citrix Workspace for Mac is an enterprise access client for applications and desktops delivered through an organization's Citrix environment. It suits employees, contractors and administrators who have an assigned Citrix workspace, rather than providing a standalone personal virtual desktop by itself.

Features

  • Connect to assigned virtual applications and desktops through configured Workspace, StoreFront or Gateway services.
  • Use HDX session capabilities for graphics, audio and supported multimedia workloads.
  • Redirect approved local devices, printers and client files according to administrative policy.
  • Integrate supported Microsoft Teams VDI optimization and communication plug-ins.
  • Receive managed client updates and centrally configured workspace settings.

Available resources and features depend on the organization's backend versions, policies, entitlement and enabled plug-ins. Installing the client alone does not provision a Windows desktop or give access to an employer's systems.

Installation and requirements

Use the official macOS installer package and installation wizard, or brew install --cask citrix-workspace. The catalog's universal 26.09.0.17 PKG is 387,393,117 bytes, confirmed by HTTP HEAD at the exact official download URL. Citrix's current requirements list macOS Sonoma 14, Sequoia 15, Tahoe 26 and Golden Gate 27, subject to the vendor's support lifecycle. The official download page explicitly supports Apple silicon and Intel-based Macs. Citrix specifies 2 GB of free disk space and a working connection to the servers; session workload and peripheral features can require more resources.

The installation guide describes administrator authorization. Set up the organizational workspace using its server URL or supported email-based discovery, then authenticate with the assigned account. Private organizational certificate authorities may require an administrator-provided trusted root certificate, and incomplete or invalid server certificate chains can prevent sessions even when a browser appears to work. No named Homebrew cask conflict is declared. Optional plug-ins and other endpoint-security tools may require coordinated deployment by IT.

Accounts, network and licensing

A reachable Citrix service and an authorized organizational account are required for remote resources. Authentication can include organizational multifactor steps. The downloadable client is not a free entitlement to hosted desktop infrastructure; Citrix backend services and applications have separate commercial licensing and organizational terms. Network access is integral to live remote sessions, and access can depend on a VPN, Gateway, internal network or approved certificates.

Permissions and data access

Authorize microphone, camera, device or file access only for features you need and your organization's policy permits. Client drive mapping can make local files available inside a remote session. The 2609 notes describe an additional Files & Folders approval for opening web or SaaS apps in Chrome Enterprise Premium on macOS 27. Do not generalize that prompt into a blanket Full Disk Access requirement for every session. Device redirection and administrative controls can restrict which peripherals or folders are available.

Practical cautions

Remote sessions can process organizational data and access redirected local resources. Verify the workspace URL with your IT team, avoid importing unverified certificate roots and follow enterprise policies for screenshots, clipboard, file transfer and session recording. A network interruption can disrupt work; save important changes in the intended remote location. Current documentation notes installer-screen issues on certain recent macOS updates and supplies a package-based workaround, which should be handled under your administrator's deployment guidance.

Version evidence

The official download pages identify 26.09.0.17 as release 2609 and 26.07.0.76 as release 2607 for Mac. The notes for 26.07.0.76 therefore summarize selected publisher-documented Mac 2607 release-family changes, not a separate .76-versus-.75 change list. No publisher mapping for catalog build 26.07.0.75 was confirmed, so its notes remain unfilled. The current download size above remains tied to 26.09.0.17, not the historical 2607 disk image.

Désinstaller Citrix Workspace et nettoyer éventuellement ses données

Commande de désinstallation
brew uninstall --cask citrix-workspace

Une désinstallation standard supprime l’app mais conserve ses réglages et ses caches.

Nettoyage approfondi (facultatif)

Commande de désinstallation
brew uninstall --zap --cask citrix-workspace
