Typora
Qiyun (Shanghai) Technology Ltd. · A Markdown editor and reader with live preview, document organization, and import and export tools.
Typora is a Writing & Notes app for Mac.
About
Typora is a macOS document editor for writing and reading Markdown. Its live preview displays formatted content as you work, without a separate preview pane or visible Markdown syntax symbols in the editing view. This Homebrew cask installs the development variant, typora@dev, rather than the standard typora cask.
Notable capabilities include:
- Editing Markdown content such as headings, lists, tables, code fences, math, and diagrams.
- Organizing documents with a file tree, file list, and outline panel for navigating headings.
- Importing and exporting document formats, including PDF, DOCX, OpenOffice, LaTeX, MediaWiki, and EPUB.
- Working with images, links, task lists, footnotes, and YAML front matter.
- Viewing word, character, and line counts, with focus and typewriter modes available.
Install with brew install --cask typora@dev, then open Typora from Applications. The cask installs Typora.app in /Applications. It requires macOS and conflicts with the standard typora cask, so both casks cannot be installed together.
