Dia
The Browser Company of New York Inc. · The Browser Company’s AI-enabled browser for navigating tabs, asking about selected context and using supported integrations with separate profiles and account controls.
About
Dia is a browser from The Browser Company that combines ordinary browsing with an AI chat workspace. It suits people who want help reading and working across tabs, while keeping control over the context and integrations they enable. AI-generated answers are not a substitute for reading the original source or reviewing an action before submitting it.
Browsing and contextual work
Use tabs and separate profiles for work and personal sessions. The publisher describes chat with page context, connected-tool workflows and generated briefs. The official 1.51.0 release adds queued and steerable chat, Loom transcript tools, HEIC inputs, improved Notion reading and tab-search improvements. These are exact 1.51.0 facts; they are not assigned to a different patch version.
Integrations have their own login and authorization conditions. A browser cannot read an account or workspace to which you have not granted the applicable access. Enterprise restrictions can affect connected content, and an AI summary can omit or misinterpret details. Verify source links, figures, permissions and recipients before relying on generated work.
Mac download and catalog identity
The catalog’s current version is 1.52.0 build 88431, with latest distinct release bases 1.52.0, 1.51.1 and 1.51.0. The official 1.52.0 ZIP is 854,605,134 bytes by the publisher’s current download response. This size belongs to 1.52.0; the previously inaccessible historical 1.51.1 ZIP is not relabeled as the current release.
Public publisher listings and the cask describe Apple-silicon M1 or later with macOS 14 or later. These are distribution requirements: the current ZIP’s executable CPU architecture and embedded minimum were not independently inspected. The new download-size value is supported by the official current artifact response, rather than by an inherited catalog measurement.
Obtain a supported build from the official Dia download page and follow its Mac installation workflow, or use brew install --cask thebrowsercompany-dia. The cask may select a newer publisher release than this fixed catalog. No additional formula dependency is declared; no local Python runtime or model-weight download is asserted as a universal requirement for the packaged browser.
Accounts, permissions and network
Browsing, account sign-in, AI requests, connected integrations and updates use network access. The applicable Dia account and service terms govern AI features; other sites require their own accounts. Review permissions for each connection rather than assuming browser sign-in authorizes every work account.
Downloads and uploads need access to selected files. Microphone input requires permission when dictation is used; notifications and other optional browser capabilities request their own permissions. Opening a browser is not a reason to grant every macOS privacy permission. Imported browser data, extensions, cookies and profiles can expose sensitive information; choose deliberately what to import or connect.
Fees, license and data risks
Dia is proprietary software governed by the official Terms of Use with The Browser Company of New York Inc. The terms describe free experiences, paid offerings, usage-based features, trials and automatically renewing subscriptions. A free download does not mean unlimited free AI use. Check the current price and cancellation conditions for the selected plan rather than treating an old promotion as current pricing.
Review the privacy policy before sending confidential page content, prompts, uploaded files or connected workspace data to AI features. Browser access and cloud processing are distinct from purely local storage. Malicious web pages can contain deceptive instructions, and generated suggestions can be wrong. Confirm financial, administrative or externally visible actions independently and avoid including passwords or private keys in prompts.
Keep account recovery methods current and export important bookmarks or work as appropriate before switching profiles or removing data. A generated report or shared screenshot can contain names, private links and workspace details; review it before sharing. Installing extensions adds another trust boundary, with permissions separate from Dia’s own service.
Evidence limits
The official 1.52.0 notes describe pinned tabs, an active-tab indicator, faster chat, Atlassian setup, connected-tool tours, queue controls, tab closing and synchronized extension unpinning. They are associated only with 1.52.0. Specific official 1.51.1 patch changes remain unverified because its direct public changelog URL returned 404. Valid 1.51.0 notes remain associated only with that exact version.
Publisher visual assets include the Dia mark and a generated-report interface promotion; a genuine full Mac browser interface capture was not independently verified and is not substituted with an unrelated image.
