RStudio Daily
Posit Software, PBC. · A daily-build desktop environment for working with R and Python; intended for testing rather than general use.
RStudio Daily is a Data Analysis app for Mac. It needs macOS 12 or later.
About
RStudio Daily is the daily-build variant of the RStudio desktop application, described as data science software focused on R and Python. Daily builds are intended for testing and are not recommended for general use; choose a stable build if you need one for routine work.
- Provides the RStudio Desktop application as
RStudio.for macOS.app - The daily-build page publishes RStudio Desktop builds and identifies the current macOS build as universal, for macOS 14+.
- R is a prerequisite. The cask provides two installation options:
brew install --cask r-appinstalls the R Project’s official binaries, whilebrew install rinstalls Homebrew’s compiled R version without the GUI app. - This cask conflicts with the stable
rstudiocask, so they cannot be installed together.
Install the daily build with brew install --cask rstudio@daily. The cask metadata allows macOS 12 or later, but the current daily-build page lists the macOS build for macOS 14+. Install R separately using one of the options above before using RStudio. For stable builds, the daily-build page directs users to posit.co.
