About

PrusaSlicer Preview is the prerelease channel of Prusa Research’s slicer for FDM and mSLA 3D printers, including models from other manufacturers. It is intended for users who want to test upcoming changes and report problems, not replace a proven production workflow.

  • Adjust print settings down to individual layers and extruders.
  • Paint, cut and arrange models, with multiple projects and print beds.
  • Prepare multi-material prints and inspect generated instructions in a 3D preview.
  • Send jobs through supported printer connections, with optional PrusaConnect and Printables integration.

The 3.0 alpha stores profiles in PrusaSlicer3-dev, separately from stable 2.x configurations. A macOS DMG is available from the official release. Alpha software can contain bugs; check the release’s platform requirements before installation.

How to install PrusaSlicer Preview on Mac

  1. In Terminal, run: brew install --cask prusaslicer@preview
  2. Homebrew installs the app in your Applications folder.

Install without Homebrew

Download the same file Homebrew uses: github.com/prusa3d/PrusaSlicer/releases/download/version_3.0.0-alpha12/PrusaSlicer-3.0.0-alpha12.dmg

Uninstall PrusaSlicer Preview and optional data cleanup

Uninstall command
brew uninstall --cask prusaslicer@preview

A regular uninstall removes the app and keeps its settings and caches.

--zap also deletes the settings, caches and other files listed in the Homebrew definition. They can include data shared with other apps and cannot be restored, and it does not guarantee that nothing is left. Back up any data you need first. To keep settings and caches, leave out --zap.
