Kotlin LSP
JetBrains · JetBrains’ alpha Kotlin language server with IntelliJ-powered completion, diagnostics, refactoring and JVM build-system support for LSP editors.
Kotlin LSP is Developer Tools software for Mac.
About
Kotlin LSP is JetBrains’ official Language Server Protocol implementation for Kotlin. It is based on IntelliJ IDEA and the IntelliJ Kotlin plugin and supplies language intelligence to compatible editors rather than providing a standalone Mac graphical application.
The official project documents code completion, diagnostics and quick fixes, semantic highlighting, import organization, rename refactoring, formatting, documentation navigation, hover information, call hierarchy and code folding. JVM project import supports Gradle and Maven, with experimental Android Gradle Plugin support. The README describes Kotlin Multiplatform support as planned, not an established capability.
The Homebrew cask installs the standalone server launcher as kotlin-lsp. Editors must configure an LSP client to use it. VS Code users can instead install the official “Kotlin by JetBrains” extension (JetBrains.), which bundles the server and activates for Kotlin files. Do not run competing Kotlin language servers together.
This project is in alpha. Its implementation includes proprietary JetBrains components and is partially closed-source; the public repository is a read-only mirror, with documentation contributions handled manually by maintainers. It is designed for LSP-compatible editors and releases are generally tested in VS Code.
