Routed Gothic
Darren Embry · A technical-drawing-inspired typeface with upright, italic, half-italic, narrow, and wide TrueType font files.
About
Routed Gothic is a typeface inspired by lettering used on mid-20th-century technical drawings, engraved signs, keyboards, comics, and avionics. The Homebrew cask installs a selection of TrueType files rather than an application.
The installed files include upright and italic styles, plus narrow and wide forms. The half-italic files provide a more lightly slanted option; the typeface’s italic styles are slanted rather than traditional cursive italics. The font author describes coverage as including ASCII, ISO Latin 1, and much of Unicode General Punctuation, with additional characters. The author also notes that the fonts have no hinting.
Install with brew install --cask font-routed-gothic. After installation, select the desired Routed Gothic font in the font menu of an application that supports installed fonts. This cask installs nine specific files; it does not install every conceivable style or a separate app. Font files alone do not establish complete Unicode coverage or support for ligatures.
