Public Sans
U.S. Web Design System team · A simple, neutral sans-serif typeface, installed as variable and individual-weight font files.
About
Public Sans is a sans-serif typeface adapted from Libre Franklin and designed by the U.S. Web Design System team. This package installs font files, not an application.
- The installed files include variable fonts and separate static files in regular, italic, and multiple weights, including thin, light, medium, bold, and black.
- The package includes upright and italic styles; the complete installed set is listed below.
- The official source describes Public Sans as simple and neutral and notes that it is no longer maintained.
Install with Homebrew:
brew install --cask font-public-sans
After installation, select Public Sans or one of its installed styles in a compatible application’s font picker. The installed files do not establish full Unicode coverage or ligature support.
