Noto Sans is a font you can install on a Mac.

About

Noto Sans is a font collection, not a standalone Mac application. This Homebrew package installs the Noto Sans family from the official Noto Latin-Greek-Cyrillic repository. It is distinct from the separate Noto Sans CJK and other script-specific font packages.

Installed font files

The cask installs unhinted TrueType fonts in regular, bold, black, light, thin and intermediate weights, with italic and condensed variants. It also installs variable TrueType files with width and weight axes, including an italic variable font. These are font files for use in applications that expose a font selector; the package does not install a separate editing interface.

Installation

Install with brew install --cask font-noto-sans. Homebrew places the listed files in the user font library. Select Noto Sans in a document or design application's font settings. Available variable-font controls depend on the application's support for width and weight axes.

Development and license

The Noto contributors maintain the font sources and automated builds in the official Latin-Greek-Cyrillic repository. The README documents make build for font generation, make test for FontBakery quality checks and make proof for HTML proofs. Automated proofs and QA results are published on the project's site. The fonts are licensed under the SIL Open Font License, version 1.1.

Release scope and visual assets

The backend records two versions, 2.015 and 2.014. Both official GitHub release bodies are empty, so no particular glyph changes, fixes or improvements are inferred. This font-only package has no standalone application GUI; no unrelated application icon or fabricated screenshot is attached.
