About

Myrica is a free TrueType font designed for programming. It combines and adjusts glyphs from multiple font sources to improve readability and make similar characters easier to distinguish. This Homebrew cask installs the Myrica.TTC font file.

  • ASCII characters are based on Inconsolata; other characters are based on 源真ゴシック.
  • Half-width and full-width characters are adjusted to a 1:2 width ratio.
  • Selected glyphs are modified for clarity, including distinctions between lookalike Japanese characters and larger semi-voiced marks in Japanese kana.
  • The font includes hinting information for ASCII characters, hiragana, and katakana.

Install with brew install --cask font-myrica. After installation, select Myrica as the font in a compatible application, such as a code editor or terminal, to use it. This cask installs the Myrica.TTC file; it does not install an application. The font’s design details do not establish complete Unicode coverage or support for programming ligatures.
