About

GenYoMin is a Pan-CJK serif font collection derived from Source Han Serif and shaped with the look of traditional printed type in mind. This Homebrew cask installs the GenYoMin files in TTC collection format; it does not install a font-management or editing application.

The installed collection contains seven files: GenYoMin2-B.ttc, GenYoMin2-EL.ttc, GenYoMin2-H.ttc, GenYoMin2-L.ttc, GenYoMin2-M.ttc, GenYoMin2-R.ttc, and GenYoMin2-SB.ttc. These files provide different named font weights, including ExtraLight, Light, Regular, Medium, SemiBold, Bold, and Heavy. The project describes GenYo variants for Chinese and Japanese as well as a separate Genki Serif family, but this cask’s installed files are specifically the GenYoMin collection.

To install, run brew install --cask font-genyomin. After installation, select the installed GenYoMin font or weight from the font menu in an application that supports installed fonts. The cask installs font files, not an app. The project states that the font is derived from Source Han Serif and is licensed under SIL Open Font License 1.1.
