About
Cubic 11 is an open-source Traditional Chinese bitmap font derived from M⁺ gothic 12r. Its 11×11 pixel design is intended for pixel-art games and artwork, and its glyphs include adjustments for Traditional Chinese punctuation and forms commonly used in Taiwan.
The project describes character coverage that includes 4,808 commonly used Chinese characters, the 5,401-character Big5 first plane, Taiwan IICore sets T1A and T2A plus some T2B, Taiwanese Hokkien and other regional characters, Zhuyin symbols, GB 2312 Level-1, and Level 1 of the Table of General Standard Chinese Characters. It also includes symbols for all elements in the periodic table. These coverage descriptions do not establish complete Unicode coverage.
The Homebrew cask installs one font file, Cubic_11.ttf; it does not install a separate application. Install it with brew install --cask font-cubic-11, then select Cubic 11 in a font-aware application to use it. Its suitability depends on the application and the text being displayed.
The font is released under SIL Open Font License 1.1. For license terms, including conditions for modified fonts and redistribution, consult the project’s license file.
