Courier Prime is a monospaced typeface designed with screenplay pages and on-screen reading in mind. Its weight is intended to balance the white space on screenplay pages, and the design is optimized for 12-point use. Its character metrics match Courier and Courier Final Draft, which can make it suitable as a one-for-one substitute in some documents.

The supplied font files are regular, bold, italic, and bold italic. The italic style is a distinct design rather than simply slanted regular letters. This cask installs those four files; it does not install the separate Courier Prime Sans or Courier Prime Code typefaces.

Install with brew install --cask font-courier-prime. After installation, select the installed Courier Prime font in an application that supports custom fonts, such as a word processor or screenplay editor. This package installs fonts, not a screenplay-writing application. Courier Prime is released under the Open Font License (OFL).

How to install Courier Prime on Mac

  1. In Terminal, run: brew install --cask font-courier-prime
  2. Homebrew installs the font in ~/Library/Fonts, where Font Book can use it.
