About

BitstromWera Nerd Font is a patched version of Bitstream Vera Sans Mono from the Nerd Fonts project. Nerd Fonts adds icon glyphs to programming-oriented fonts. This Homebrew cask installs a specific set of BitstromWera font files; it is a font package, not an application.

The installed files include regular, bold, oblique, and bold-oblique styles in each of these filename groups:

  • BitstromWeraNerdFontMono
  • BitstromWeraNerdFontPropo
  • BitstromWeraNerdFont (without either suffix)

Install with brew install --cask font-bitstream-vera-sans-mono-nerd-font. After installation, select the desired BitstromWera Nerd Font style in a compatible application’s font settings. The monospaced files can be selected in an editor or terminal for coding; the proportional-width files have a different width treatment. Installing the cask does not install an editor or terminal.

The cask installs specific font files, not every possible BitstromWera Nerd Font variant. The presence of patched font files does not establish complete Unicode coverage or ligature support.

How to install BitstromWera Nerd Font (Bitstream Vera Sans Mono) on Mac

  1. In Terminal, run: brew install --cask font-bitstream-vera-sans-mono-nerd-font
  2. Homebrew installs the font in ~/Library/Fonts, where Font Book can use it.
