.Net Runtime

.Net Runtime is the preview runtime package for .NET, Microsoft's platform for building and running applications. This Homebrew cask installs the runtime, not the .NET SDK; its listed artifact provides the dotnet executable.

• This is a preview build, rather than the standard runtime cask.
• The package is provided as a macOS installer package and is configured for Apple Silicon (arm64) and Intel (x64) Macs.
• The cask requires macOS Sonoma (macOS 14) or later.
• It conflicts with the dotnet-runtime, dotnet-sdk, and dotnet-sdk@preview casks, so those cannot be installed alongside it.

Install with brew install --cask dotnet-runtime@preview. After installation, invoke dotnet in a terminal. Microsoft describes .NET as a cross-platform framework for building applications and cloud services; this cask supplies the runtime, not the development SDK.
