Brave Nightly is a Browsers app for Mac. It needs macOS 13 or later.

About

Brave Nightly is the nightly build of Brave, a web browser described by its publisher as focusing on privacy. It is intended for trying features early: Brave says new features typically appear in Nightly first, move to Beta for final checks, and then reach the Release version. Nightly is therefore distinct from Brave’s Beta and standard Release builds.

  • Provides a browser application named Brave Browser Nightly.app.
  • Represents the early, in-progress stage of Brave’s release sequence, according to the official Nightly page.
  • The Homebrew cask requires macOS 13 (Ventura) or later.

To install it with Homebrew, run brew install --cask brave-browser@nightly. Homebrew installs the app in /Applications as Brave Browser Nightly.app. This cask is for the Nightly variant, not Brave’s Beta or standard Release build.

Install and uninstall

Homebrew installs the app in your Applications folder.

Install without Homebrew

Download the same file Homebrew uses: updates-cdn.bravesoftware.com/sparkle/Brave-Browser/nightly-arm64/199.33/Brave-Browser-Nightly-arm64.dmg

SHA-256 only checks that the download is complete; it is not a security certification. See the SHA-256 and download address

Uninstall command
$ brew uninstall --cask \      brave-browser@nightly

A regular uninstall removes the app and keeps its settings and caches.

Deep clean (optional)
$ brew uninstall --zap --cask \      brave-browser@nightly

--zap also deletes the settings, caches and other files listed in the Homebrew definition. They can include data shared with other apps and cannot be restored, and it does not guarantee that nothing is left.See which files are removed
