RevPDF Editor

RevPDF Editor is a desktop PDF utility for people who want to organize, edit and convert documents without uploading each file to an online editing service. Its publisher describes offline processing, no account requirement and no tracking. The official release repository distributes desktop binaries; it is not an open-source grant for the application itself.

Document tools

Merge and split PDFs, export pages as images, create documents from images and compress files. Recent releases add paragraph reflow, PDF comparison, sequential Flows, PDF-to-Excel, PDF/A conversion and more flexible redaction. Comments, bookmarks, links, find-and-replace and metadata editing support review and organization. Results depend on the document’s fonts, scans, embedded content and structure; conversion is not guaranteed to preserve every layout detail.

Mac installation and version identity

The catalog’s latest release is 5.0.0. Its official RevPDF_Editor_arm64.dmg download is 18,552,203 bytes, but read-only inspection of the app inside finds version 5.0.1, build 89. This is a publisher artifact/release-label discrepancy, not a reason to silently change the catalog or assign 5.0.1 notes to 5.0.0. The selected executable is arm64 and the bundle minimum is macOS 11.0; this selected asset does not establish an Intel Mac distribution.

Download the Mac artifact from the official releases and follow its installation workflow, or use brew install --cask revpdf-editor. Model runtimes, developer SDKs and a cloud account are not declared dependencies of this PDF application. The cask declares no additional formula dependency. Confirm the selected asset’s architecture and version if the release’s download files change.

Permissions, accounts and connectivity

The publisher states that document processing works locally without login. File access is needed to open selected PDFs and save or export results. Printing, clipboard imports and other optional workflows use the corresponding macOS facilities; they do not justify giving the app blanket access to all files. Network access is still needed to obtain the download, visit support or check for updates, even when PDF editing is performed offline.

Fees and proprietary license

Pawandeep Singh’s official desktop EULA grants free, worldwide, non-exclusive and non-transferable installation and use on macOS, Linux and Windows. It permits redistribution of unchanged official binaries with the license under its conditions, while prohibiting modification, reverse engineering, sublicensing and selling the software except as explicitly authorized. The application remains proprietary and is supplied without warranty. A public GitHub release page is not evidence of an open-source application license; mobile-store pricing or a promotional Pro label is not used to invent a desktop subscription requirement.

Document risks

Keep original documents and use separate output copies for important work. Editing can invalidate digital signatures. Compression, conversion and font substitution can affect fidelity, so inspect the output before archiving or sharing it. Use the dedicated redaction workflow and verify that sensitive text, metadata, attachments and underlying content have actually been removed; a visible rectangle alone is not proof of secure redaction.

Password removal should only be used for documents you are authorized to modify. PDF files can contain active links, embedded files and malicious content. Review destinations before opening links and avoid treating an unknown PDF as trusted simply because it is local. Screenshots, recent-file lists and exported metadata may disclose confidential names or contents.
