介绍

Proxyman is a native Mac HTTP debugging proxy for developers and testers investigating APIs, web applications and mobile apps. Inspect requests and responses, filter flows, preview structured content and compare exchanges. Paid tools add breakpoints, response mapping, scripting, network conditions and other advanced workflows. The Mac desktop application is distinct from the independently running iOS and Android apps and the separate Windows/Linux editions.

Installation and platform

The current cask requires macOS 14 or newer, supports Intel and Apple Silicon, and installs Proxyman.app plus its bundled proxyman-cli command. Its 26.0.1 DMG is 63,757,299 bytes before installation. No additional cask package dependencies or conflicts are declared. Some older general documentation lists earlier minimum systems; those do not override this package's current macOS requirement.

Proxy and HTTPS setup

Capturing traffic requires routing the intended client through Proxyman. It can change macOS HTTP/HTTPS system proxy settings. An optional privileged Proxy Helper Tool improves setting and restoring those settings; installation and background operation require the relevant macOS authorization. Corporate proxies, VPNs and other proxy software can interfere with routing or create proxy loops, so check the active proxy configuration when connections fail.

HTTPS inspection additionally requires installing and trusting the locally generated Proxyman CA certificate in the relevant device or application trust store, then enabling SSL Proxying for the intended domains or apps. Automatic System Keychain setup requires administrator privileges. Firefox, Java and other environments can need separate trust configuration. Certificate-pinned applications may reject interception even after ordinary certificate setup; trusting a CA does not guarantee every app can be captured.

For external iOS or Android devices, configure their network proxy to the Mac's listening address and port, ensure the device can reach it, and follow that platform's certificate trust instructions. Simulator and emulator setup is separate from physical-device setup. Installing the desktop app alone does not configure every client.

Sensitive captures and accounts

Decrypted requests, cookies, authorization headers and saved logs can contain sensitive data. Capture only traffic you are authorized to inspect, limit SSL Proxying scope and review logs before exporting or sharing. Remove the debugging certificate and restore proxy settings when no longer needed. Local debugging and optional Team Workspace cloud sharing are different workflows; cloud log sharing uses account access and can expose logs through the sharing permissions selected.

Licensing and costs

Proxyman is proprietary software from Proxyman LLC. Its free evaluation tier provides limited functionality; downloading the app does not unlock Pro features. Current USD individual perpetual licenses are Standard at $89 for one desktop device and Personal at $99 for two desktop devices with included mobile seats. Perpetual purchases include one year of updates and continued use of the last eligible version afterward; additional updates can require renewal. Team licensing and a Team subscription offer different entitlements, with cloud collaboration reserved for the subscription. Paid activation uses a license key or Team Workspace sign-in. Consult the current pricing page for device limits, taxes and available offers.
