Bionic is LM Studio's agent application for work, creative tasks and coding with open models. It brings conversations, project files and document previews together so an agent can help create and revise files while keeping its activity visible.

Setup and compatibility

This macOS package is an Apple Silicon build requiring macOS 12 or later. Choose a model that fits your Mac's memory and runtime support, then test a small task before a demanding project. Some functions and models have additional system or hardware requirements.

Local models and voice processing can operate on-device, but remote models, web access and connected tools have their own network and data policies. The publisher offers account and pricing options for its services; model licenses are separate. Review proposed commands, file changes and tool permissions, keep backups and check generated work before using it. Bionic is the agent application, distinct from the classic LM Studio application.
