Clipy
Clipy Project · Keep clipboard history and reusable snippets close at hand through configurable keyboard menus on macOS.
介绍
Clipy is a free, open-source clipboard extension for macOS. It keeps a history of copied text and images and lets you organize reusable text as snippets, so frequently used material can be pasted from a keyboard-accessible menu.
Features
- Browse clipboard history, including supported text and image formats.
- Organize reusable snippets for repeated messages and other text.
- Open the main menu with Shift-Command-V by default.
- Open history with Control-Command-V and snippets with Shift-Command-B.
- Customize shortcuts in Settings and retain a dedicated Settings shortcut.
Compatibility and setup
Clipy 1.3.0 requires macOS 13 Ventura or later and adds native Apple Silicon support. Launch the app, review its clipboard and Accessibility permission guidance and configure shortcuts and history exclusions. Before upgrading to 1.3.0, export important snippets: its automatic Realm-to-SQLite database migration can fail in some cases.
Clipy is distributed under the MIT license. Clipboard history and snippets are stored locally, but the project does not claim that this storage is encrypted. Exclude password managers and sensitive apps where possible, clear unwanted history and use suitable Mac security protections.
The official privacy policy says clipboard and snippet contents are not sent to external services. Update checks use clipy-app.com, while Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics are enabled by default for usage and diagnostic data; each can be disabled in Preferences. This is not a promise of zero network communication. Review those controls before using Clipy with confidential material.
