介紹

Tungsten Edge replaces the app-centered Dock workflow with a bottom taskbar organized by window. Each open window gets its own card for direct switching or minimizing; single-window apps stay compact, and minimized windows retain their positions. The native Swift application provides an app drawer, drag-to-reorder cards, pinned folders, messaging badges, adjustable taskbar size and optional edge auto-hide.

Multi-display modes can follow the pointer, pin the bar to one screen or provide a separate bar per display. In separate mode each bar can list windows on its own display, and dragging a window card between bars moves the window. Preferences also cover keeping maximized windows above the taskbar and light, dark or system-following appearance. Actual behavior depends on the installed release.

The official repository requires macOS 12 or newer and provides a universal binary for Intel and Apple silicon. Accessibility permission is required to identify and manage windows; grant it in System Settings > Privacy & Security > Accessibility. The documented full-screen prediction feature observes selected global input events to hide the taskbar before a transition, without recording ordinary input. It can be disabled in Advanced settings. Signed and notarized builds have been available since version 0.9.0.

Install with brew install --cask tungsten-edge. The source repository is GPL-3.0 licensed. The developer states that pre-1.0 builds are free, with licensing planned for version 1.0; source availability should not be interpreted as a guarantee that every future packaged build is free.
