介紹

SwiftFormat for Xcode is a macOS app that provides a source editor extension for reformatting Swift code in Xcode. After launching the app and restarting Xcode, you can invoke SwiftFormat from Xcode’s Editor menu.

The extension applies SwiftFormat’s code-formatting rules, which can adjust whitespace and make other code-style changes, such as handling implicit self and redundant parentheses. Its formatting rules and options are configured in the host app. You can import or export configurations, but settings cannot be overridden per project; when switching projects, import the configuration you want to use. Changes to an imported .swiftformat file must also be re-imported manually.

To install, run brew install --cask swiftformat-for-xcode, open SwiftFormat for Xcode from Applications, follow its on-screen instructions, and restart Xcode. This cask installs the Xcode extension app, not the separate swiftformat command-line package.
