介紹

SC Menu is a macOS menu bar application for viewing PIV-based smartcards. Its menu icon indicates whether a card is inserted: it shows a green smartcard when one is present and a blank card when none is detected. The app also lets you view certificates on the smartcard.

Additional documented capabilities include:

Configuration through a configuration profile, including controls for update checks and notifications.
Optional scripts that can be configured to run when a smartcard is inserted or removed.
A configurable certificate-expiration notification threshold; the documented default is 30 days.
Commands to add the app to or remove it from Login Items.

To install the app with Homebrew, run brew install --cask sc-menu. The cask installs SC Menu.app in /Applications. macOS 13 or later is required.

For profile-based settings and login-item commands, consult the project documentation. Script execution on card insertion or removal depends on configuring the corresponding profile settings and script paths; these capabilities are not enabled merely by installing the app.
