介紹

Petrichor is a native macOS player for music in your own collection. It builds a browsable library from selected music folders, using track metadata to organize tracks by artists, albums, composers, genres, decades, or years. Search works across the library, and playback does not modify your audio files.

  • Plays more than 40 audio formats, including MP3, FLAC, ALAC, WAV, AIFF, Ogg Vorbis, and Opus; it can also show track details such as codec, bit depth, and sample rate.
  • Offers Internet Radio, with stations browsable or addable by URL and organizable into collections.
  • Includes a multiband equalizer, presets, stereo widening, and preamp controls, along with gapless playback.
  • Provides an immersive now-playing view and a floating Mini Player, both with access to the queue and lyrics.
  • The site describes the app as offline by default, with online extras such as artist images, lyrics, and scrobbling opt-in.

Install with Homebrew using brew install --cask petrichor. Petrichor requires macOS 14 or later. The download is a universal build for Apple Silicon and Intel Macs.
