介紹

ONLYOFFICE Desktop Editors combines a word processor, spreadsheet editor, presentation editor, PDF editor, form tools and diagram viewing in one desktop application. Create and edit locally stored files without an internet connection. The project emphasizes Office Open XML formats such as DOCX, XLSX and PPTX, while its conversion components support additional document formats.

Editing and compatibility

Use the document editor for formatted text, the spreadsheet editor for formulas and data, and the presentation editor for slides. PDF tools include editing and form workflows; available actions depend on the document and its protection. Recent releases add spreadsheet dynamic arrays and regular-expression functions, multiple-page views, Markdown export in supported editors, and Mac files in separate windows. File compatibility is a goal rather than a guarantee that every complex Office feature, embedded object or layout will reproduce identically. Review formatting and formulas before distributing important converted files.

Offline work and cloud connections

Local file editing does not require a hosted ONLYOFFICE account. Optional cloud connections enable workflows with services such as ONLYOFFICE, Nextcloud, ownCloud, Box or Dropbox. Real-time collaboration depends on a compatible connected service, its configuration and permissions. AI plugins and agents require their own setup and possibly external providers; they are separate from basic offline editing. Connected services, paid subscriptions and AI providers can have costs even though the desktop release download is free.

Mac setup

The publisher offers Mac Intel and Apple Silicon installers separately. The current catalog artifact is the Apple Silicon DMG for version 9.4.0, sized 542306356 bytes in the official release record. The download page lists macOS 10.13 or later for the current Mac line and a separate legacy download for older systems. Select the installer matching the machine; Apple Silicon itself requires a compatible newer macOS. Windows and Linux packages are also available. Leave additional disk space for documents and temporary conversion data.

License and data handling

The project is licensed under GNU AGPL version 3. Free local editing is distinct from paid hosted or enterprise products. Local files remain on the chosen filesystem unless you connect a service, share them or use a feature that sends content elsewhere. Review cloud and AI provider privacy settings before processing confidential documents. Macros, plugins, linked data and embedded content can affect security; use trusted documents and keep the suite updated. Back up important files before conversion or large edits, especially when moving between applications.
