Microsoft 365 Copilot is Microsoft's desktop AI productivity assistant. This exact Homebrew package installs the universal macOS PKG for version 1.2609.2301. Current Microsoft support documentation says the Microsoft 365 Copilot app is now called Microsoft Copilot; the catalog retains the recorded package name and token rather than treating the renamed experience as another package.

Desktop workflow

The official macOS guide describes chatting, asking questions and getting help without switching to a browser. Option + Space opens a compact prompt window from anywhere; change or disable this shortcut under Account > Keyboard Shortcut. The app follows the system appearance by default, with Auto, Day and Night choices under Account > App Appearance. Device context helps answer questions about using your version of macOS.

Accounts and capabilities

Sign in with a personal Microsoft account or a Microsoft 365 work or school account. The broader Copilot experience can help create content, work with files and access Microsoft 365 apps and services. Features depend on the account, subscription, organizational policies and rollout. The official macOS guide specifically lists Copilot Pages and Deep Research as not currently available on macOS; do not assume every web or Windows feature is supported by this Mac client.

Installation and release scope

The recorded Homebrew cask requires macOS 14 or later and uses a universal installer. Microsoft publishes service-level Copilot feature updates, but the accessible official notes do not map changes to the three exact installer builds recorded here. Their editorial notes explicitly state this limitation instead of inferring changes from monthly service updates. This is proprietary Microsoft software; no public source-code repository for this desktop application is established by these sources.
