介紹

Home Assistant for Apple Platforms is the official companion application project for Home Assistant. This listing installs its macOS application from the project’s signed-release distribution rather than installing a Home Assistant server. The shared Apple-platform repository also builds iOS applications, so release notes must be read with their platform labels intact.

Apple-platform project

The official repository provides the application source under the Apache-2.0 license. Its build uses Xcode, Swift Package Manager and Ruby tooling managed through Bundler; macOS Developer ID builds are produced through the project’s GitHub Actions. Developers can build and test the app using the documented project schemes and code-signing configuration.

Release scope

The recorded 2026.9.3 (3126) release publishes a home-assistant-mac.zip artifact. Its shared Apple-platform changelog covers server-specific sensors, notifications, Assist and Shortcuts, with many items explicitly targeting iPhone or Apple Watch. Those mobile-only changes should not be assumed to apply to the Mac. The latest three backend rows include a build-suffixed version and its canonical version; they do not necessarily represent three distinct upstream releases.

Install with brew install --cask home-assistant, or use the official macOS ZIP from the Home Assistant Apple-platform release page. Consult the companion documentation when configuring the client with your Home Assistant deployment.
