介紹

Bean is a macOS word processor designed for straightforward writing. It provides a live word count and a choice of views and editing tools, including page layout, optional two-page display, split-window editing, and full-screen focus mode.

Create template documents and use free-form headers and footers.
Adjust the appearance with dark mode and alternate colors; use the formatting inspector, highlighter, and text-style selection tools.
Find text with regular expressions, use word completion and a dictionary, and keep date-stamped backups.
Use the floating-window option. Bean allows inline graphics, but not floating graphics.

Install with brew install --cask bean. Homebrew places Bean.app in /Applications; open it from there to start writing. The official site lists support for macOS High Sierra 10.13 through macOS 27.

Bean does not support footnotes or stylesheets, and its compatibility with Word file formats is partial. Graphics can be inline, but not floating. Bean is provided at no monetary cost and is released under The Bean Word Processor Software License; version 3.x is closed source.

Bean 安全嗎？

Bean 收錄在 Homebrew 官方軟體庫中，沒有被停用。自 2026 年 9 月起，Homebrew 會停用沒有通過 macOS Gatekeeper 檢查的應用。安裝時，Homebrew 會用 SHA-256 校驗值核對來自 www.bean-osx.com 的安裝檔。過去 30 天，它透過 Homebrew 安裝了 20 次。

如何在 Mac 上徹底解除安裝 Bean？

執行 brew uninstall --cask bean。要連設定和快取一起刪除，執行 brew uninstall --zap --cask bean。--zap 還會刪除 Homebrew 定義裡列出的設定、快取等檔案，其中可能有其他應用共用的資料，刪除後無法恢復；它也不保證沒有任何殘留。請先備份需要保留的資料；如要保留設定和快取，請不要加 --zap。這會再刪除 2 處檔案和資料夾，包括 ~/Library/Preferences/com.bean-osx.Bean.plist。
