Bambu Bar 1.4.0 is free to use when downloaded from GitHub. No license is required for printer monitoring, controls, filament information, or desktop widgets.

• Support the project from the link at the top right of the app. An optional $9.99 supporter license enables automatic update checks and installation, plus the Hero badge.
• Manual update checks remain available to everyone.
• About now places its links directly after the license section and removes the duplicate update-status row.
• Four AMS filament cards fill the available row. The window can shrink to 960 × 600 points, and the Widgets page adapts to narrower widths.

The Mac App Store edition remains separate and uses Apple’s updates.

Install: Download Bambu-Bar-1.4.0-macos.zip, unzip it, and move Bambu Bar.app to Applications. This universal Apple silicon / Intel build requires macOS 26 or later, is Developer ID signed, and is notarized by Apple. Allow Local Network access when prompted so it can connect to your printer.

• Every AMS unit within reach: with many units attached (an H2 takes up to four AMS and eight AMS HTs), the filament list in the menu bar panel now scrolls instead of stretching the panel past the bottom of the screen. The print controls, Open Bambu Bar and Quit stay visible, and the list opens on the unit feeding the print. Printers with one or two units look the same as before, and the main window still shows every unit.

• 17 new languages: Bambu Bar now speaks Czech, Dutch, French, German, Hungarian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Portuguese (Brazil), Russian, Simplified Chinese, Spanish, Swedish, Traditional Chinese, Turkish and Ukrainian, as well as English. It follows your Mac's language; to use another one, pick it in Settings → Language (or for Bambu Bar in System Settings → General → Language & Region). The widgets follow the system language.
• Bambu Lab's own words: printer terms (nozzle, heatbed, access code, LAN Only, Developer Mode, print stages, speed levels…) follow Bambu Studio's translations, so they read the same as in Bambu's apps.
• Printer errors in your language: HMS messages use Bambu Lab's official translations in 13 of the languages. Czech, Turkish and Ukrainian show them in English, and Traditional Chinese shows the Simplified Chinese texts, until Bambu Lab publishes those translations.

• Much lighter while printing: Bambu Bar used up to 20–30% CPU during a print, even with its panel and window closed. It now stays under 1% in the background and around 3% while the panel is open. The closed menu bar panel and the closed window no longer keep redrawing, the 3D printer model pauses whenever it's out of sight, and the menu bar icon only redraws when it changes.
