    3.5.0 · 13 October 2026

Snapline Studio is included in every license, the Capture Set grows out of the Shelf Handle, wide and tall stills get sharper thumbnails, and short messages like copy confirmations and Capture Text's progress now show in the Shelf Handle pill.

    • Snapline Studio is included: Every Snapline License now includes Snapline Studio, licenses bought earlier too. There is no separate Studio purchase, bundle or Studio Trial any more. An existing license picks Studio up at its next license check (Check for Updates… in the menu bar, or quit and reopen Snapline). It still needs a Mac with Apple silicon, and the 14-day free Trial includes it.
    • The Capture Set grows out of the Shelf Handle: Arming a Capture Set turns the Shelf Handle on the display you are working on into the set's capsule, showing the count, the last three frames and Done, plus Capture while the chain is paused. It shows under every handle setting, over full-screen apps and above the crosshair, and follows the display of each shot. The separate Capture Set pill is gone.
    • Edit the set in place: Click the capsule, or rest on it when the Shelf opens on hover, and a tray grows out of it with the Shelf's own motion and pauses the chain. Drop a frame with its ✕ or Delete (it stays in History), reorder by dragging or with ⌘← and ⌘→, and bring a dropped frame back with ⌘Z.
    • Done with Combine or Copy All: Combine stays the default. The Done menu adds Copy All, which copies every file in set order, says "Copied N Captures" on the handle and ends the set. Drag the count to drag the whole set out.
    • Keyboard paths: The Capture Set shortcut, pressed while a set is armed, opens the tray with key focus. ⌘⌫ in the tray or on the crosshair discards the set (Return confirms, Esc keeps it), and Esc on the crosshair of an empty set ends it.
    • Set shots stay quiet: A shot the set takes is no longer copied automatically and no longer opens the Editor. A shot that a full set ignores keeps both.
    • Sharper thumbnails: Wide and tall stills are now decoded at enough pixels to fill their tile in the Shelf, the History grid and the tray.
    • Short messages in the Shelf Handle: Any message that fits on one line of the pill, such as a copy confirmation, is now said there instead of in the toast at the bottom of the screen. Capture Text shows "Recognizing…" with a spinner and then its result in the pill, and a failure shows its own symbol. A message too long for one line still uses the toast, as does a handle set to Never, an open Shelf or a capture on screen.

Complete official appcast description (additional detail and fixes)

Snapline Studio is now included in every Snapline License, the Capture Set grows out of the Shelf Handle, short messages appear in the handle instead of a toast at the bottom of the screen, and wide or tall screenshots stay sharp in their thumbnails.

    • Snapline Studio is included. Every Snapline License now includes Snapline Studio, licenses bought before this release too: there is no separate Studio purchase or Studio Trial any more, and Settings, License simply says "Snapline Studio included". The 14-day free Trial includes Studio as before. Studio still needs a Mac with Apple silicon.
    • The Capture Set lives in the Shelf Handle. Starting a set turns the handle into a dark capsule that shows the last three frames, the count, a Capture button while the crosshair is paused, and a Done button. It stays visible whatever the handle setting is (Never included), over full-screen apps and above the crosshair, and moves to the display of each shot the set takes. The separate Capture Set pill is gone. Reduce Motion keeps only a short fade.
    • A tray for editing the set in place. Click the capsule (or rest the pointer on it, if the Shelf opens on hover) and a tray grows out of it with one numbered tile per frame; the number is the frame's place in the Combine. Opening the tray pauses the chain. Hover a tile and click the X, or press Delete, to drop a frame (the capture stays in History). Drag a tile, or press ⌘← or ⌘→, to reorder, and press ⌘Z to put a dropped frame back. Capture, or the dashed "Capture another" tile, resumes capturing.
    • Done has two outcomes. Done still combines the captures by default. Its menu adds Copy All, which puts every capture's file on the clipboard in set order, says "Copied 3 Captures" in the handle, and ends the set. Drag the count in the tray header to drag the whole set out as files.
    • Keyboard paths for the set. Pressing the Capture Set shortcut while a set is running opens the tray with the keyboard, last frame selected, instead of combining; the menu bar item then reads "Show Capture Set (3)". Return is Done and ⌘C is Copy All. ⌘Delete discards the set, from the tray or the crosshair: with one capture or none it ends at once, and with two or more the tray asks to keep or discard (Return discards, Esc keeps). Esc on the crosshair of an empty set ends it. Discarded captures stay in History.
    • Set shots are not copied or opened. A shot the set takes no longer goes to the clipboard and no longer opens the Annotate tool, even if "Copy to clipboard" or "Open Annotate tool" is on under After capture, because the set's own Done or Copy All is the outcome. A shot a full set ignores behaves as before.
    • Short messages appear in the Shelf Handle. Any message that fits on one line of the handle is now said there, with a checkmark for success or the message's own symbol (a warning triangle for a short failure such as "No text found in that area"). Capture Text shows "Recognizing…" with a spinner in the handle until its result replaces it, and says the result there too. Longer messages, a handle set to Never, an open Shelf, or a capture on screen still use the toast at the bottom, and a toast is no longer shown twice for a message the handle took. Notes also show over full-screen apps.
    • Sharp thumbnails for wide and tall screenshots. A wide Combine, a phone screenshot or a tall Scrolling Capture was drawn from a thumbnail too small to fill its tile and looked soft. Tiles in the Shelf, the History grid and the Capture Set tray now load enough pixels to fill their shape, up to a 2048 px limit.
    • Fixes. Frames in the tray no longer show empty placeholders the second time it opens. A reordered frame settles where you drop it instead of the tiles jumping back and forth. Closing the tray while it asks to discard now counts as keeping the set. The capsule no longer flickers as the tray closes into it.
