Roblox Player connects a Mac to Roblox's online platform of creator-made experiences. It is for people who want to join and play published experiences, interact with friends and customize an avatar. This package contains the player application; Roblox Studio, the separate tool used to build and publish experiences, is not installed by this cask.

Experiences and social play

Browse the Roblox service, choose an experience and open it with the installed player. Experiences vary widely in gameplay, technical requirements, moderation and payment options. Availability can depend on your account, age, region and the experience's access settings. Friends, chat and other communication features are controlled by platform and account settings; access to a feature is not guaranteed for every user.

The official Creator Hub publishes numbered engine release notes covering the platform and developer tools. Some entries are marked Pending or gated behind disabled feature flags. Those notes must not be read as a promise that every feature is enabled in this Mac player or every experience. Catalog entries with a numeric version plus a distribution hash share their numeric version family; a changed hash alone is not a new engine release.

Installation and Mac support

Follow the official Roblox download flow, unpack the player and place it in Applications, or use brew install --cask roblox. The cask installs RobloxPlayer.app under the name Roblox.app. Official support says the player installs on macOS 10.13 High Sierra or later and supports Apple silicon/M1 chips. The checked artifact is the arm64 Mac ZIP, 147,044,494 bytes; this is not a claim that the ZIP is Universal or that every Mac meeting the OS minimum can run every experience well.

The player communicates with the online platform and may download additional content and update itself. Performance depends on the experience, graphics hardware, memory and network conditions. The cask declares no additional Homebrew formula dependency or named conflict. Roblox Studio and third-party launchers are separate applications and should not be treated as prerequisites for ordinary play.

Account, fees and permissions

A Roblox account and network connection are required for the normal online experience. Roblox offers free access with optional Robux purchases, subscriptions and paid content; individual experiences can have their own purchases or access charges. Review the current terms and spending controls before buying. The player is proprietary software, not an unrestricted open-source game engine.

Microphone or camera permissions may be relevant to eligible communication features if you choose to enable them. Do not assume all accounts qualify for voice or camera features. The checked installation sources do not establish a blanket Accessibility or Full Disk Access requirement for ordinary play.

Privacy and account safety

Roblox is an online social platform. Account identity, avatar information, interactions, purchases and experience activity may be processed according to its privacy policy and settings. Review age-appropriate privacy, communication, parental and spending controls. Avoid sharing passwords, recovery codes or private information with other players, and obtain the player only from the official download route.

User-created experiences and chat can expose you to content and other people that vary in suitability. Report inappropriate behavior through the platform's supported tools. Do not install an unofficial exploit, patched client or script executor to obtain a promised reward; these tools can compromise your account and Mac.
