Descripción

Logi Options+ is Logitech's companion application for customising supported peripherals. It lets you assign device inputs to useful actions, create application-specific settings and automate repeated tasks. It suits people using compatible Logitech mice, keyboards, webcams, lights, presentation remotes or MX Creative Console; support and feature availability depend on the exact model.

Features

  • Map supported buttons and keys to shortcuts and actions.
  • Create profiles for individual applications.
  • Build Smart Actions that perform a sequence from a chosen trigger.
  • Use Actions Ring and Marketplace integrations on eligible devices.
  • Configure supported webcams and lights with model-specific controls.
  • Use Flow on compatible hardware to move between computers and transfer content.

Check the supported-device and feature-compatibility lists before installing. A device being recognised does not mean it supports every feature. Actions Ring, haptics, Flow and webcam controls have different hardware requirements. Gaming peripherals may require another Logitech application rather than Options+.

Installation and first use

Install on Mac using brew install --cask logi-options+, or download Logitech's Mac ZIP, extract the installer and run it. This is an installer with background components, not simply an application to drag into Applications. Follow its administrator prompts, finish setup and restart when requested. Connect a supported device through its appropriate Bluetooth, receiver or wired connection, open Options+, select the device and choose the input or setting you want to customise.

The standard installer downloads application components over the network. Its ZIP is 20,260,402 bytes, while the completed installation and later downloads require more data and storage. This rolling URL can install a newer release than a previously listed version. Logitech also offers an offline installer for managed or disconnected computers; it is a separate distribution with different available features, not this small online installer. Allow network access needed by installation, updates, Marketplace and online services.

macOS permissions

Accessibility enables features such as gestures, zoom and navigation actions. Input Monitoring enables device input features; use the requested Quit & Reopen step after granting it. Bluetooth access helps discovery and Flow when a device is not actively connected. Approve USB accessories when macOS requests permission for your receiver. Keep the Logitech background/login items enabled so device detection and customisation can run.

Screen & System Audio Recording is associated with particular features, including foreground-app screenshot actions and presentation-remote timer or magnify functionality. It is not a universal requirement for every basic device setting. Review the explanation for each requested permission in System Settings > Privacy & Security and grant access for the functions you intend to use. Managed computers may require an administrator's policy approval.

Requirements and platform support

The current official desktop download page specifies macOS 14 Sonoma or later and Windows 10 or later. The Mac application supports Intel and Apple Silicon systems. Older Mac installations use distinct legacy builds: the recorded Cask selects 1.60.495862 on Big Sur and 1.93.755983 on Monterey; those are not the current 2.8 feature set. A general guide still mentions macOS 12, so use the current download requirements when choosing a release.

Logitech also provides a separate Googlebook download, which should not be assumed to have identical desktop features. This Mac Cask is not a Windows or Googlebook installer. It declares no extra Homebrew formula dependency or explicit Cask conflict. No fixed current RAM or installed-space minimum was established; the installer ZIP size does not describe the space needed for the complete software.

Accounts, price and license

Options+ is a free proprietary Logitech application governed by its software license agreement, with separately licensed components and services. It does not require purchasing a software subscription for ordinary supported-device customisation. Compatible hardware is separate, and third-party plugins or connected services can impose their own terms, accounts or charges.

Creating a Logi ID is optional for basic use according to Logitech's security whitepaper. Sign-in enables cloud backup and restoration of supported device settings. Cloud features require network access, while a login does not make an unsupported device compatible. Review the application's analytics and privacy settings; Logitech documents an opt-out for usage and diagnostic collection.
