Supacode

Supacode organizes coding agents and real terminal sessions in a native macOS window. It suits developers running several tasks across repositories who want each task in a separate Git worktree, with notifications and pull-request state visible beside the terminal.

Workspaces and terminals

Create, pin and archive worktrees; use terminal tabs and splits, scripts and a command palette; inspect branch and pull-request state. Agent badges show busy, awaiting input or idle states for supported integrations. Background sessions use zmx and can survive closing the app; quitting the UI does not necessarily stop agents or their running commands. Remote SSH repository support is beta and some features remain local-only. Plain folders can also host terminals without Git tools.

Supacode orchestrates external coding tools; it does not include a free unlimited model service. Install and authenticate the selected agents separately and review their provider pricing and data handling. GitHub PR/CI features use the separately installed gh CLI and its authentication. Remote repositories need SSH access and suitable host tools; remote persistence depends on zmx on the host.

Installation and requirements

Download the official DMG, move Supacode to Applications and launch it, or use brew install --cask supacode. The exact 0.10.8 DMG is 32,194,597 bytes, verified by HEAD against the official version-specific URL. Repositories, worktrees, dependencies and persistent terminal logs require additional storage.

Official installation documentation requires macOS 26.0 or newer and Git available in your shell. Read-only inspection of this exact 0.10.8 DMG confirms that the supacode main executable is a universal Mach-O with x86_64 and arm64 slices, and Info.plist declares macOS 26.0. This checks the main app, not every bundled tool or external agent. The checked sources do not specify minimum RAM. Parallel agents and builds consume resources according to their workloads; advertised agent counts are not a hardware guarantee. mise, recursive submodules and the pinned Xcode/Metal/Zig tools are source-build requirements, not ordinary DMG installation prerequisites. The catalog declares no named conflict.

Accounts, permissions and network

Local repository and terminal work does not require a Supacode cloud account in the checked setup guide. GitHub integration requires gh authentication; coding agents and remote SSH services may need their own accounts, keys or subscriptions. Downloads, updates, cloud-agent calls and GitHub/SSH operations use their respective network services. A local terminal session may run offline only when its chosen tools and dependencies allow it.

Allow access to the repositories and folders you intend to use, and enable system notifications only if desired. These sources do not establish blanket Accessibility or Screen Recording access as an ordinary prerequisite. Shell commands, setup/archive scripts and coding agents can edit files, invoke programs or contact services with your user's privileges. Review scripts and agent actions, protect credentials and commit or back up changes before deleting worktrees; isolation does not make destructive commands harmless.

Privacy and license

The official privacy documentation says repositories, worktrees, terminal transcripts and agent conversations stay local by default, except when external tools send data. This statement does not override an external coding agent's own cloud behavior. Enabled PostHog analytics use a hardware UUID and event metadata; enabled Sentry reporting sends crash/error telemetry. The app's Settings can disable analytics, crash reports and GitHub integration; analytics/reporting changes need a restart. gh stores its own authentication, rather than Supacode storing GitHub credentials.

The tagged license is FSL-1.1-ALv2, copyright Supabit, LLC. It permits internal use and other permitted purposes while restricting competing commercial products/services. Each version receives an additional Apache-2.0 license on its second anniversary; it is not immediately unrestricted Apache-2.0 software. External agents, models and tools have separate licenses and costs. Review the license before redistribution or commercial service use.
